Bonjour everyone! Well after a few days of working with my wonderful new discovery, BRENDA, from DESIGN MY SHOP on ETSY, I think I have just about finished up my NEW and GORGEOUS blog make-over!! I have been a bit frustrated with BLOGLAND as of late... Have many of you noticed that your "Followers" section is bare? I wonder what is going on! And I haven't been able to leave many of you comments on your lovely posts, as it says I am "ANONYMOUS". I was chatting with Queen M.A. the 2ND, and she too is having this problem, hmmmm. I hope it all goes back to normal soon. But I would like to let many of you know that I have read your posts and I love them: Mandy from A LA PARISIENNE, on PRINCESS AMELIA'S big birthday party, HAPPY 3rd BIRTHDAY Princess!, and FRENCH BLUE on welcoming SUMMER and NOEL'S success on being such a wonderful ARTIST over at FANCIFUL, CONGRATS NOEL! My favourite Queen, FRANCES over at BEAUTIFUL Interiors and 18TH CENTURY STYLE, on giving her two chairs a make over in the ROBIN'S EGG BLUE, which has me just GA-GA!!! and on her new project of the PINK SOFA with the BLACK PIPING! And then there's my Queen MIMI, over at BONJOUR ROMANCE! I just read a slew of happenings over at her niche! And my dearest Queen ANITA, from CASTLES, CROWNS and COTTAGES!! Just loving all that she has posted just recently. BOY! I have been gone for awhile!

In the meantime, I will be working on new designs for our on line paper boutique, LA PETITE PLUME, to bring you the very best of us. I hope all of your have a PINK - LICIOUS week and enjoy my NEW FACELIFT!

A whimsical pattern of the young brother and sister in the palest of Blush, absolutely one of my favourite colors, having a playful day perhaps in the country side in south France. La Petite Plume is so thrilled with this new set of note cards! It is our vision of the ever so famous and never forgotten, Coco Chanel-one of my life time idols. Our inspiration comes from Coco's life before fame and fortune; when Coco was Gabrielle and had a brief career as a singer. I think the model in this image resembles Audrey Tautou a bit:)

This amazing image is from the private collection of Queen Sherry, as we like to call her. Sherry requests many custom orders from La Petite Plume, sending us vintage photos and postcards from her large and extensive collection, and it is with her permission that we now offer you this breathtaking set. Duchesse de Polignac. French Inspired Greeting Cards, Lavender, Lined Pearl Finished Envelope Included, Set of 6- LIMITED EDITION

Yolande de Polastron, better known as the Duchesse de Polignac, was one of Marie Antoinette's best friends and later became the Governess of the royale children. This divine image is from the private collection of our very own Queen Sherry. One of our favourite customers. Sherry has requested we make her a Couture set of greeting cards and La Petite Plume has once again delivered in a jaw dropping color pallet!

Set of six greeting cards, 3.5 x 4.75, created on ribbed textured Lavender parchment, followed by a layer of Italian Imported shimmery Pearl Finished Celedon with a romantic swirl pattern. Next, a vintage inspired Fleur di Lis striped pattern in colors of years past, Sage and Pea Green adorn the top, while a floral pattern in Burnt Cantaloupe and shades of Olive cover the bottom portion. A triple band of ribbons run across the mid-section. The first ribbon is an Imported Baroque Floral from Germany, which has a ribbed texture in Chocolate and a felted Baroque design is in Olivina Green. The next two layers are in both Lavender and Plum double faced satin, and tie at the far right in a sweetheart bow. A triple medallion rests in the middle with the breathtaking image of the Duchesse de Polignac in a glorious Purple hat and Celedon shawl. Our Princess Royale, CHANDLER-MICHELLE, has made her CHOICES of GOWNS for her SWEET SIXTEEN, which will be April 2011! They all come in a variety of colors, but she likes PALE PINK . Most come with a matching BOLERO, to cover her shoulders in the CHURCH.

The Princess Royale Is Having Her First Ball!

Well, it's finally here! The year that my PRINCESS ROYALE, CHANDLER-MICHELLE, celebrates her first ROYALE BALL. I am so excited! So much to do and prepare. Mr. La Petite Plume and I were disappointed at first because we, as Hispanics, have a traditional "Coming Out " party, when a young lady turns "15" years old and is presented to society. We call this a "Quincenera". We waited fifteen years for this major event in our little girls life. This is a formal ball where we as parents present out little girls to society as young women. There is a religious ceremony at church where the Priest will bless the "Debutant" and welcome her to society in her new role as a young woman, and her court will walk down the aisle first, then the birthday girl, for those who wish to go through this ceremony, and a full court of young ladies and young men, friends of your daughter, help to form this formal affair. They will usually wear formal gowns that coordinate in the theme colors chosen by the Birthday Girl, and the young men wear tuxedos. It is basically all of the same preparations for a huge wedding except their is no groom:)

Then there is a HUGE BALL usually at a banquet hall, where the Father will take off his daughter's slipper and replace it with a high heel shoe, and she dances with her dad. It is a very emotional and teary moment. Many "Quincenera's have a choreographer teach the court the Waltz and a few traditional dances from ones native country to preform at the "Ball", for the pure enjoyment of her guests. The "Debutante" may choose to have a "slide show" of herself from her infant years all the way through her 15th birthday. Most young ladies will change from their formal gown to a shorter party gown so that she can dance the night away! It takes almost a year to 18 months to plan. Just like a wedding.

Well here is the sad news... After waiting fifteen years for this special event and planning so many special surprises for my Princess, she lowers the "BOOM" on us and tells us she wants to have a 'SWEET SIXTEEN" instead!!! She is now 15 years old. This is it. If she doesn't have this moment celebrated in the "TRADITIONAL" way, she will miss this opportunity forever!

Being the understanding parents that we are, we are now planning a SWEET SIXTEEN for April of 2011. She did decide to incorporate our traditions of the Sweet 15 into her now Sweet Sixteen, so that her father and I will not be too sad. She will be taken to church by a "HORSE AND CARRIAGE", in White:)

So during the course of this year I will be keeping all of you up to date with the planning of this huge event:)) I will be posting a few formal gowns and asking for your help in choosing the perfect gown for our Princess Royale. Also the tiara, shoes, cake and I think I will be making the invitations myself, what do you think:) All in glass!

We will be taking all suggestions for any of the above and we need the perfect song for our Princess to dance with daddy:) Please send me all of your suggestions:) My Mother-n Law will be coming from Colombia, my husbands native country, and will be singing to her, as she is a Professional singer, what a treat! And my very close friend "Gloria Gaynor" will be invited and I know that Chandler -Michelle will want her to sing, "I WILL SURVIVE". I think this will be the appropriate song for me that night!

That is the question... WILL I SURVIVE THIS ONE LONG YEAR OF PLANNING AND CHANDLER-MICHELLE'S CONTINUOUS CHANGES!!!

I know that I can count on all of you to help us narrow it all down!!

A Blessing In My Life!

I would just like to share with all of you one of the most wonderful blessings that I have in my life. Her name is Sherry. I first met Sherry through Etsy. She purchased some of our stationery from one of our sub-divisions, Chandler Michelle. Well little did I know what a treasure and blessing Sherry would become in not only my life, but in the lives of my family.

Sherry just kept coming to Chandler Michelle and buying all of her favorites and she has requested many custom orders. As a matter of fact, this new Saint Patrick's Day Petite Note Card, was another custom order for Sherry. The image is from her private collection, which is so extensive. I figured I'd post it as a surprise for her! This would be her first time viewing it, as we are working on her order of two sets of this particular image. Well anyhow, as time went on, I really got to know her so well. We just clicked immediately. Even though we have never actually met in person due to her living in another state, we chat via email almost everyday or night:) We just chat about anything and everything, from our children, our pets, the weather, and our social lives.

I honestly can not go too long without a dose of my "Queen Sherry or Sher-Bear", as I like to call her. So I would just like to tell her how much I just love her and how much she has enriched my life in the past year and a half. That she is my dearest friend and I feel so "BLESSED" that God put her in my path, and that she will forever be a part of my life.

I truly hope to meet her one day. This would be just the biggest moment for me!

A single Large blank greeting card, 4.25 x 5.5, created on luxurious, thick, plush creamy Ivory letterpress parchment. A textured layer in the palest of Green with an Argyle pattern holds a triple medallion in Imported Italian Pearl Finished parchment in a rich Wine hue, followed by a sturdy layer in Blush. Your Queen Has Gone Mad!

Just a quick note from your Queen to say... MY BLOG HAS A MIND OF ITS OWN!!! Lately my blog has just gone CRAZY. I first noticed it when I decided to add my falling snow to my page. Then when I changed from falling snow flakes to falling hearts, I started to get all sorts of advertisements and I though I for sure had lost all of my info on my blog!! I found out that many bloggers were experiencing the very same problem. So I removed the falling hearts and my Valentines Day Countdown widgets, well actually my son, SAGE, THE TWELVE YEAR OLD PRODIGY, fixed the problem for me. I was SOOOOOO HAPPY! But now I have like large empty spaces between my info or gadgets! Heaven only knows what is going on now! But I just though I'd let all of you in my ROYAL COURT know that I am working on the "SI-CHI-A-TION":))

A JEWEL IN THE CROWN! A jaw dropping set of Royal Note cards for the true "FRANCOPHILE or lover of all things MARIE ANTOINETTE"! This set is truly BREATHTAKING. Four different images of our divine Queen of France sitting at her Royal Box at the Opera in Paris, draped in all of her ROYAL JEWELS. A set of four blank PARISIENNE INSPIRED note cards, 4.25 x 5.5, created on IMPORTED LETTERPRESS PARCHMENT in VELVETY FRENCH VANILLA, followed by a Pearl Finished layer in BROCADE. I am so THRILLED I could SCREAM, but I won't:) I just received a GIFT from PARIS!!!, OK, let me rephrase that. A gift from... CLAUDIA, from THE PARIS APARTMENT!!! Let me set the scene for all of you... It was the usual busy day here in my studio, LA PETITE PLUME, and while working on an order for a wonderful customer from across the pond, aka, THE UNITED KINGDOM, My DOOR BELL RANG!

It was the mail carrier with a LARGE envelope, hmmm, I thought, as I RAN to tear it open. And there it was,( as a choir of angels sang, oh, and the golden rays of light beaming down on me. I want all of you to just visualize the entire scene, ha ha), an AUTOGRAPHED book from the QUEEN herself, HER MAJESTY, CLAUDIA STRASSER, AUTHOR OF, "THE PARIS APARTMENT"!

I could not contain my excitement:))) I flipped through the book so fast. I was trying to ABSORB as many pages as possible within seconds. Remember, I was in the middle of working on an order of NOTE CARDS, so I had to get back to packing them up for shipment. -But I just had to see a bit of of this long awaited book containing so many FABULOUS TIPS on fabrics, colors, lighting, and HOW TO SHOP for wonderful FINDS at FLEA MARKETS , RUMMAGE SALES and much more to get that perfect PARISIENNE style you've been craving, OK, I don't want to give away all of the details:) I could no longer look at it on my desk, begging me to go over and drool over the VIVIDLY colored pictures ARCHITECTURE and ANTIQUE ROMANTIC details not one more minute! I then got the sudden URGE to pick up the phone and make that MAGICAL CALL to who other than, you guessed it, CLAUDIA!! Yes I did, I sure did.

I called Miss. Claudia and had the most FANTASTIC, ENERGIZING conversation with her. CLAUDIA is an AMAZING lady with some of the most amazing pieces at her boutique. I truly ENJOYED our chat and just when I was thinking of crossing the 'ol HUDSON RIVER to NYC to go to THE PARIS APARTMENT, Claudia lowers the BOOM:(( She is now in MIAMI BEACH! So I guess this is a great excuse for me to fly down to Miami and INDULGE in a bit at Claudia's BEAUTIFUL BOUTIQUE:)) If you haven't popped over to The Paris Apartment yet, you MUST go and tell her Daisy from LA PETITE PLUME sent you:)), and if you haven't picked up her BOOK yet, treat yourself to one for the holidays!

A MILLION MERCI'S to you my Queen for the DIVINE book! I will be reading it in the evenings when my day has wound down, and I finally get some ME TIME to kick up my heels. When the studio is closed and the dinner has been served, the dishes are done and the children are safely in their nooks snoozing away. Mommy will have herself a HOT TOTTY, slip into her "SNUGGIE" and savor each and every page of this MEMORABLE CHRISTMAS GIFT!

Boy! La Petite Plume really feels like a DUNCE! Brown Paper Packages Tied Up With String...or Ribbon

I guess a some point or other, we have all heard this unforgotten song from "The Sound of Music", "Favorite Things", and ran around singing it endlessly as if we too were Julie Andrews on some mountain top in Austria I believe it was. "Brown paper packages tied up with string". Well this song is just so fitting for when I wander off into the world of my now favorite site for all things beautiful in the mind of SANDE from A GIFT WRAPPED LIFE.

After 20 years of successful interior design, Sande Chase made the decision to switch her focus on a career of professional gift wrapping. A divine pallet of Heavy Cream, Apple Green and Chocolate with notes of Mulberry and Rose, with beautiful Pine Swags and blooms. These are a must have for your Spring 2001 Stationery collection!
